Travel Tips

Also known as the Forbidden City, it is the most well-preserved and largest wooden structure ancient architectural complex in China and even in the world, and is hailed as "the foremost of the world's five great palaces." The Inner Court is centered around the Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Hall, and Kunning Palace, as well as the East Six Palaces and West Six Palaces on both sides, which were the residences of the feudal emperors and their consorts, commonly referred to as the "Three Palaces and Six Courts." The Forbidden City houses a large number of precious cultural relics, with a total of over a million pieces, accounting for one-sixth of the total number of cultural relics in the country. The Clock Exhibition Hall has a clock performance at 11 am and 2 pm every day, which should not be missed. The Forbidden City should be visited from south to north, with the Meridian Gate being the only entrance, and the exits are the Donghua Gate and Shenwu Gate.
