What this tool does

The High-speed Rail Planner helps you build a multi-city train route and shows estimated minimum travel time and second-class fare totals. You can also export your current plan as a printable page.

Main features and how to use

1) Select cities

Select cities in either of these ways:

  • Click cities in the city list
  • Click city points on the map

You need at least 2 cities to generate a route.

2) Manage your selected cities

In the selected list you can:

  • Drag to reorder the trip
  • Set Entry (start city) and Exit (end city)
  • Remove a city

Pinned Entry/Exit cities are fixed at the beginning/end and can’t be dragged.

3) Optimize the order

Turn on Optimize order to automatically reorder the middle cities to reduce total travel time (Entry stays first, Exit stays last).

4) Read the route results

When 2+ cities are selected, the route section shows:

  • Total time (or unavailable if data is missing)
  • Total fare (or unavailable if data is missing)
  • Stops (your current city order)

For each leg, you can see the estimated time and fare. If both direct and transfer options exist, you may be offered a link to switch between them.

5) Currency display

You can switch the displayed currency for a quick reference conversion. The base fare data is still in CNY, and conversions are estimates.

6) Export / print

Click Export to generate a printable page for your current route. Use your browser’s print function to save as a PDF or print it.

Notes and limitations

  • Estimates are based on the site’s built-in dataset, not live schedules or real-time pricing.
  • Fares are second-class only.
  • Transfer suggestions are limited to a single transfer (A → X → B).
  • If a leg shows unavailable, the dataset may not include that connection; try changing your cities or order.
